WE'RE GETTING THERE
Up at 6.15am - woke to crisp clear outback morning
Left Nyngan at 8am , fueled up - headed out towards Cobar , Wilcania and onto Broken Hill.
Stopped at Cobar for breakfast .
Rep from Cobar Community newspaper spoke to Treen & crew about EsCarpade and the trip -took some photos.
After breakfast break cars headed back out of town to take photos with Cobar sign. Throughout the day many more cars would post photos of their cars in front of this sign .
Laurie loved stirring up the wild goats with the siren and dog sound effects.
Met up with "Pirates of the Carribean" at servo and had them join our little convoy.
Met up with Booger along the track out of Cobar .
Heading to Wilcania - long straight roads ,
Wilcania - fuel and comfort stop needed.
Not to many businesses where open - many were boarded up and had bars on windows.
Found BP depot , fueled up and off to Broken Hill - almost there, only 190 km to go.
With days ahead of upto 450km trips in between nightly stops that'll be easy after today and yesterday.
Total of 1556 kms done from Brisbane to Broken Hill.
Stopped at Little Topar for rest stop - doesn't need to state 'little' in title. it's a pub, accommodation block and one petrol pump.
Bought a sticker "Where the bloddy hell is Little Topar".
Changed time zones again about 60 km out of Broken Hill to SA time - lost another half an hour - this is going to be very confusing changing time zones almost daily.
We made it to Broken Hill in the early afternoon and booked into our home for the next three nights a well equipped three bedroom cottage.
All the guys wanted to know - "Does it have air-conditioning?" Oh gosh I hope so ; it sure did -awesome air-conditioning .
Dazza & Treen took Afro to exhaust shop as the the small hole that had appeared by Nyngan had become a full on crack.
Posted photo on Facebook - got a comment back from Sean (mechanic) "should I be worried?" - Nah all good Sean.
Got ready and headed to Musicians club for dinner - this was the start of many diss appointments in Broken Hill - Musicians club with no musicians? What the?
Caught up with some follow EsCarpadians - with promises of more tomorrow.
When we arrived home - on opening the door we were greeted by Icy temps- we had to sit outside until the house warmed up - the aircon would be fine.
WE WERE THERE NOW!!!!
